upon arriving home, i found a pile of funny shaped mail awaiting me. tax forms to sign in a photo document envelope filled with (digital-print) photos from hawaii. i have had the ridiculous luxury of traveling far twice in the past two months. maybe just one month, even. i went to honolulu for spring break. there my grandmother's house and me boogie-boarding was documented by two different digital cameras. i have 8x10 glossy-finish proof that i rode two waves, at least. and that my gramma lives in an elegant, peaceful abode by a canal.
traveling. some 8 hours of in-transit today, more if you count going to blue bottle and back, or to the beach and back... at least i was well fueled with excellent coffee and food, sunshine. anyway, i get lots of hardcore thinking done during traveling. airports, shuttles, airplanes, and metro systems are all cool non-places, neither here nor there. very conducive to losing yourself in the anonymity of big cities and thinking, reading, knitting, what have you to pass the time.
